Sheet Vinyl

Vinyl flooring is composed of coloured vinyl chips which are formed into solid sheets of varying thickness under conditions of pressure and heat. These are either cut into vinyl tiles (including planks), or kept as large sheet rolls. Vinyl flooring is slip resistant and is suitable for bathrooms, showers, and commercial kitchens.

The floor preparation for vinyl products is critical, as any flaws or imperfections in the surface will become clearly evident and be telegraphed through to the surface. As the surface of the finished floor is of such high quality, any imperfections are greatly exaggerated. It is our recommendation that to get the best finish and maximum life from your vinyl floor you contact us for a full substrate inspection and report.

Commercial vinyl seams are always heat welded. This stops dirt, moisture and other substances from getting into the joins particularly in projects where hygiene is important, such as in hospitals and aged care facilities.

Vinyl flooring provides enormous scope for designers to create tough, hard wearing yet attractive and inspirational work and living spaces.

Vinyl Planks and Tiles

Vinyl planks and tiles follow a similar manufacturing process as vinyl sheet and are composed of coloured a PVC base with an additional composite layer added for dimensional stability. Depending on the style and finish required, a photographic layer may be added. Planks are finished with a wear layer for added longevity. Planks come in a wide variety of sizes and finishes and have a broad spectrum of applications. Vinyl Planks can be installed to closely resemble the look and feel of wood, stone or ceramics.

Depending on the product and its application, planks can be wet or dry laid. If dry laid they have a special backing that prevents slip and stops any curling or lifting. They are faster and less costly to lay then sheet vinyl.
